Waste 'Protest' Monday 13th October

The 'protest' went extremely well with an excellent turn out. See below for photos,

The council would like to thank everyone who attended and can reveal that North Warwickshire Borough Council formally objected to the planning application.

The next step is the Committee meeting at Shire Hall, Warwick which will decide on the application, provisionally set for the morning of Tuesday 18th November. Please see here for details on how to attend the meeting.

Public Meeting Friday 3rd October 6:30pm

The parish council would like to thank the two WCC Officers who came to give a presentation on the proposed site and related traffic issues. We would also like to thank everyone else who attended, a lot of valid points were raised.

Among those raised were :-

  • added traffic to the already busy Long Street
  • concerns about the A5 Dordon Island
  • width and state of C class road - Gypsy Lane
  • noise issues from HGV vehicles
  • and child safety due to the estimated increased flow of traffic

Our local MP Mike O'Brien also attended the meeting and gave his whole hearted support against the proposal. It was also attended by Mr P Morson and Mr J Winter and your Warwickshire County Councilor Mr R Sweet who all refused to comment.

The meeting closed at 8:00pm.
